ABout me

I am Jameson Fanzone, a 19-year-old photographer and painter living in Maryland. I attended Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Maryland, and graduated in 2025. I am currently attending Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where I am majoring in Marine Biology and minoring in Photography.

Painting:
I started my art journey like most kids do with pencils, crayons, markers, and the occasional clay project or finger painting. I really took to art in elementary school and continued creating consistently throughout middle school.

When I entered high school at Loyola Blakefield, I met with the head of the art department and submitted a portfolio to be considered for a more advanced art class. Fortunately, I was able to bypass the freshman art course and move directly into the course typically taken by sophomores.

During my sophomore year, I took a course called Advanced Studio Honors 1. This was the class where I discovered my passion for painting. After completing my first-ever oil painting, I began spending countless hours both in and out of class working on oil paintings for personal and school projects. I enjoyed it so much that nearly every art project I completed from sophomore year through graduation was an oil painting.

Photography:
I started photography in the summer of 2023, when my parents bought an entry-level mirrorless camera for a family vacation to Alaska. Once we arrived, it didn’t take long for me to discover how much I enjoyed photography. After using the camera for the first time, I quickly commandeered it for the rest of the trip.

After the vacation, I continued using the camera and began visiting different places throughout Maryland to take photographs. Whether I was photographing wildlife, landscapes, or sports, I loved all of it.

In the summer of 2025, I saved up and bought my own camera, the Nikon Z7 II, which has probably been one of the best purchases I have ever made. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to photograph in some incredible places, including Iceland.

Looking toward the future, I see myself continuing to grow as a photographer while combining my passions for photography, marine biology, and exploration. One of my biggest goals is to eventually work for National Geographic as a naturalist and photography expert on their cruises
